Clean eating starts today...
4.29.2013
I loathe the term "diet" because diets are usually temporary. I'm ready to make a lifestyle change. So, clean eating it is. My sister and I decided last night that we need to get serious. Like, seriously. Her wedding is coming up in June, and we both want to look great, so my love for greasy food needs to be set aside. I am limiting myself to only one cheat meal a week and only one "treat" a week as well. This is really happening, you guys. I started this morning and so far I'm feeling great, but who knows how I'll feel tonight. I woke up at 7:30 and hit the gym, then came home and prepped all my meals for the day. I just know I need someone/something to be accountable to, and this just seemed to fit the bill. Eating healthy is easier when you know others are in it with you, right? So for those of you who'd like to join me and my sister, you're more than welcome to! So, here's what I packed today for work: my lunch and some snacks as well.
Weekend Fun
4.28.2013
Sometimes I wonder to myself, "How did I get so lucky?" It's seriously amazing. I have the best family, best husband, best job, best coworkers. Everything. I'm so blessed and so lucky. I'm also lucky I got to spend my weekend with all of these amazing people. Friday I was able to spend time with my family at my sister's graduation, then her graduation fiesta! It's always fun to just relax with the fam and celebrate. We're so proud of my sister, and so glad it gave us one more reason to celebrate!
Saturday I was able to go to Lagoon Amusement Park with my coworkers. Our "work" that day consisted of taste testing a WHOLE BUNCH of food and deciding what we wanted to actually do for our Employee Summer Social later this summer. So really, it was just a fun (and free) day at Lagoon spent with the best coworkers. It's just nice to actually spend time with them OUTSIDE of work. So much fun.
After Lagoon, I was able to spend some quality time with my niece who was in town for the weekend and my newly-graduated sister. We (of course) went thrift shopping, and I definitely scored! I got some great stuff, and I'm pretty pumped about it. I can't wait to show you guys my great finds.
My husband and I ended our Saturday with grilling some hamburgers and hot dogs, my favorite thing ever. We're so stoked that it's finally warm enough for me to relax outside while my hubby grills and plays fetch with our dog. I just like to soak up every second of it. I hope you guys are enjoying this Spring weather as much as I am. So basically, I just had the best weekend. So here's a few shots from all the fun we had.

A Tiny Touch of Neon
4.26.2013
You guys. My husband is getting pretty good at this whole "taking pictures of me" thing. Maybe not pro photographer status, but getting there. We couldn't have gone out to take these at a better time of day, either. It was beautiful. The sun was starting to set, the birds were chirping, and even the trains behind me stopped for just a moment so we could quickly take a few shots. We only had about 10 minutes, but we managed to get some good ones. After that, we were off to dinner to celebrate my niece getting into town for my sister's graduation TODAY! It's such an exciting day for our family, especially my sweet sister, Stacy, who is graduating from Weber State University (SUMMA CUM LAUDE might I add, which basically means she's amazing) with her BA in PR and Advertising. We're so proud of her! We're for sure going to be celebrating it up ALL day today!
Hopefully you all have some fun plans for the weekend as well! All I know is that it's going to be amazing weather, so I'll be spending as much time outside as I can. Happy Friday!

I should've been at Coachella...
4.23.2013
But instead I'm taking finals... Boo! But guess what?! I'm done, I'm done, I'm done!! That definitely deserves multiple exclamation points, because I'm REALLY that excited.
I follow lots of different companies on Instagram, and for the past couple weeks, ALL they've been posting about is Coachella, and it makes me die a little bit inside each time. Okay, maybe that's over exaggerating just a little bit, but seriously. I'm DYING to go and have never been, but one day soon, I'm definitely going. Maybe next year? This years line up was amazing, so I'm pretty sad I wasn't able to be there.
Another thing at Coachella that I feel I've been missing out on? THE FASHION. I feel like anything goes there. It's just chill, bohemian, relaxed, effortless fashion. So even though Coachella is officially over, I was inspired to bring a little of the Coachella fashion in my outfit today.
P.S. I did the thing that bloggers are not supposed to do, I wore this skirt a couple posts ago. Don't judge. Also, with this new lens I have, I DEFINITELY cannot do my self timer anymore. It just doesn't focus right, and well, just looks dumb. Oh well for now I guess. Happy Tuesday!

I'm so broke.
4.22.2013
Happy Earth Day! And Happy Finals Week to those of you who are in the same boat as I am! I'm so stoked to be done! I have two finals tomorrow, and then it's official. I will be done with my THIRD YEAR of college. It's super exciting to be this far, although I feel like I'm not even close to being done. Hopefully, I'll only be in classes for two more semesters, and then I'll be student teaching. Finally.
So the other day, I finally had my husband help me with my blog pictures. Most the time I just use my self timer, and it's been working pretty well, but there are those times when I just NEED someone to do them for me. My husband and I don't have a lot of time together because our schedules are totally opposite, so it's hard to even find time for him to take them. So we squeezed (squoze?) in a little time before date night. So excuse the lack of photos today, he's new to the whole "taking pictures with a real camera" thing. Plus, we were starving AND it was a tidbit chilly outside.

The Liebster Award & 50 Posts
4.15.2013
You guys. Monday is almost over, and I cannot be more stoked about it. Tomorrow is officially the last day of my 7:30 AM class and I'm absolutely ecstatic. I can't believe this is the last week of classes, then finals week next week, then I'm DONE! For a whole summer, I'm free! Well, I'll still be working my life away everyday, but still. No school. That's exciting.
Anyway, so I got this award about a month ago from my sweet blogger friend Rosie over at Cupcakes and Nerf Guns and just totally forgot about it, but what better day to do than my 50th post anniversary! Yes, that's right, 50 posts. I only started a few months ago, but I feel like I have come so far already. I'm so looking forward to what the next 50 posts brings me! Okay, back to the Liebster Award! Now that you're all thinking I'm this way important person for receiving an award, the Liebster Award is different. It's an award that bloggers give to other bloggers with less than 200 followers. So basically it recognizes us little guys.
I'd like to think I have lots of blogger friends, but as I was looking at all their blogs, thinking about who I'm going to pass the award on to, I discovered all my blogger friends are cooler than me, and have a lot more followers. So I decided to nominate my sweet friend Dani, whose blog you can find HERE and my other sweet friend Christina, whose blog you can find HERE. I honestly don't even know how many followers they have, but they're both amazing girls who deserved to be recognized.
The Rules of the Liebster Award:
1. List 11 facts about yourself.
2. Do you think I can pull off red cowboy boots?
You can pull off anything you think you can pull off! At least that's my mantra.

2. Answer the 11 questions given to you.
3. Ask 11 new questions for the bloggers you nominate for the award.
4. Choose 11 bloggers with 200 or less followers to nominate.
5. Go to each blogger’s page and let them know about the award.
6. Thank the person who nominated you and link back to their blog
7. No track backs
Okay, 11 facts about me. Here we go.
1. I know a lot of people say they married their best friend, but seriously. Taylor is my BFF. He is always there for me for anything. He even listens to me complain about really stupid things and most the time agrees with me. We're best friends because I'm an extrovert, and he's an introvert.
2. I'd like to think I'm thick-skinned, but honestly I'm extremely insecure. If someone says something bad about me, I pretty much remember it for the rest of my life.
3. I'm majoring at Weber State University in Elementary Education with an emphasis on ASL, but I honestly think I could make a living being a professional organizer.
4. Speaking of that, I'm totally OCD. A dirty house gives me serious anxiety. Which is weird, considering my house is dirty as we speak.
5. If my life had a theme song, it would be Sweet Disposition by The Temper Trap. I have a soft spot in my heart for any Indie music. You can find the song HERE so you have a good idea of what I think my life is like.
6. Family is the most important thing to me. I'm such a momma's girl it's ridiculous. And seriously, my siblings are my lifesavers. We are all so different, but we accept each other nonetheless. I'm also lucky that I married into a family that loves me as much as they do. My mother-in-law is the sweetest thing in the world.
7. I LOVE writing. I didn't start this blog just because I love fashion, but because it's a great outlet to express my thoughts as well. I could write and write for days on end if I could.
8. I watch WAY more TV than I really should. My favorite shows right now are Glee, Vampire Diaries, New Girl, Modern Family, American Idol, Castle, Chelsea Lately, Awkward, Teen Mom... and well, you get the picture. I love TV. (P.S. I can't wait until the Bachelorette starts!!)
9. I get WAY too excited about the smallest/dumbest things. For example, the other day, my hubs and I were at Ross and I totally freaked because I found this cute pair of Converse sneakers IN MY SIZE. You don't understand, you guys. I've been looking for a pair of Converse's for a long time!
10. I'm OBSESSED with red velvet cupcakes. No, seriously. Like, my whole diet goes right out the window the second I see a red velvet cupcake. Not red velvet cake. It has to be a CUPCAKE. Don't ask me why. They are definitely my kryptonite.
11. I get anxiety whenever I drive past an intersection, because my biggest fear is getting T-boned. Totally weird, I know, but it really could happen. Drivers are stupid.
Questions from Rosie:
1. Will you bake me a batch of chocolate chip cookies?
Sure! Except one time, I accidentally put powdered sugar instead of flour in my batch and TOTALLY messed them up. My husband will never let me forget that one.
You can pull off anything you think you can pull off! At least that's my mantra.
3. If you could be any animal what would you be and why?
Honestly, I would be a dog. They get to sleep ALL day.
4. If you were a professional wrestler, what song would you play as you walked into the ring?
Pff, easy. Eye of the Tiger by Survivor. Just like Rocky did.
5. Where do babies come from?
Well, when mommies and daddies really love each other...
6. What is your proudest moment? (see, I’m not a complete weirdo).
Hmm. This one is hard. There are little things I've done that I've been proud of, but honestly, I'm more proud of my husband. He has been through hell and back, and is still stronger than I ever will be.
7. What do you do to cheer yourself up?
Retail therapy, for sure. Or stuff my face with delicious, greasy food. Either one. ;)
8. Do you think a vanilla milkshake is boring?
Pretty much.
9. Would you ever shoot me in the eyeball with a Nerf bullet?
There's no telling what I can do with a Nerf gun...
10. What is your ideal job?
Honestly, I love the job I have now. But, ideally I would LOVE to be in the fashion world, but more behind the scenes like a writer/editor.
11. If you could travel ANY WHERE in the world, where would you go and what would you do once you where there?
I would definitely go to Bora Bora and the first thing I would do is get myself in the water! One day... it will happen.
11 New Questions
1. What is your favorite food? (Proof that I'm a fat kid at heart)
2. Who is your idol and why?
3. If you could have any wish, what would it be?
4. What is your dream car?
5. If you could be any TV character from any show, who would it be and why?
6. Favorite Disney character?
7. If your life had a theme song, what would it be?
8. Who is your biggest idol?
9. What's your favorite pastime?
10. What do want to be when you grow up?
11. Your typical outfit on a weekday?
Well, sheesh. That was a long post! Thanks, Rosie, for nominating me for the Liebster Award! I enjoyed it! Hope you guys enjoyed getting up close and personal with me. I seriously need to go take a quiz now, so... thanksbye.
A Little Leather Detail
4.12.2013
Happy Friday, friends! I'm so sorry, I meant to post this outfit yesterday but my day was just a little crazy. I had a group presentation at school, a test, work, and then I had to drive to Park City to film a Reggae Zumba commercial! Then when I got home, I just wanted to hang out with my hubs, and not to mention the fact that I was seriously so exhausted.
This outfit was the outfit that was featured on Every New Day on Wednesday. It was so fun working with Christina, and she styled her liquid leggings adorably. So here ya go! Happy Friday!
